There is no headache with setting up the drones or the chanter and tone, off the bat from a new reed, is as if I’ve been playing it in for a few weeks. "The reeds were consistent in pitch and strength (as requested). They also pitched well in the two chanter types I tried them with (Shepherd and McCallum).
On the back of this, I ordered a batch for the Lonach Pipe Band. Whilst we are a non-competitive band, we still want to reach the best levels we can. We have pipe corps of various levels of experience, and ages from young to not so young, and we need to have reeds that can be relied on by all of these pipers.
I was interested to see the level of quality and consistency, and whether the sample batch was a fair representation of the reeds.
I was not disappointed."
